Roger Barley – Trinity Ward“I am a self employed electrical engineer, a governor of an excellent local comprehensive school and a local Magistrate. I live in the ward and strongly support the involvement of electors in Council decision-making. I will press for more door-step recycling and more 20mph speed limits by schools.. We also need honest and open consultation on future road plans, especially around Sutton Town centre” |
Chris Hillcox – New Hall WardChris was brought up in Sutton, lives locally and is a geography teacher. He has been backing Labour’s campaign for a better recycling and rubbish collection system, and more cash for road and pavement repairs. Chris said, “Local residents are making great efforts in putting pride back in the area, tackling crime and making environmental improvements. This is what ‘people power’ is all about, and I’m keen to help residents get a much greater say in their Council services”. |
Dr Rob Pocock – Vesey Ward“I have tried to bring a totally fresh new approach to community campaigning here. It’s about campaigning all year, not just at elections. It’s about being seen ‘live’ on the streets where you live, rain or shine, summer and winter, delivering leaflets, speaking to residents, holding meetings, being on hand in shopping areas like Boldmere, facing the voters, listening to your views. We suffer from ‘complacent Conservatives’ here who have taken your vote for granted over many years. I can’t claim to have done everything you want, but I believe I can honestly say that no other candidate in this Ward has worked harder to earn your vote! |
Manish Puri – Four Oaks Ward"I have lived in Sutton Coldfield for the last 10 years, my parents live in Sutton Coldfield, and having recently become a father myself, I have a real understanding of the aspirations of Sutton families. I am proud of Sutton's heritage, but it is to the future we have to look. I’ve been working with Rob Pocock to build stronger community activity and help residents have a greater say in Sutton. We need a clear vision of our town's future in partnership with all Sutton Coldfield's stakeholders”. |
