Record numbers of police officers,
falling crime rates,
safer neighbourhoods.
Stronger community policing and the means to deal with antisocial behaviour.
No criminals allowed to prosper from their crimes.
More on this.

Waiting lists slashed, increasing patient choice.
Deaths from heart disease and cancer are falling.
Continuing investment in our NHS, the largest capital building plans in its history, ensuring new and better hospitals.
Superbug infection rates falling.
We have accomplished so much but there is still much to do.
More on this.

BRITAIN is working!
Let's press
  forward
not back

In 1997 Britain was the complaining "bad boy" of Europe, and our economy had suffered many recessive cycles of "boom and bust". We are now a respected partner at the centre of Europe and a major player in world events. We have achieved an economic stature that the opposition could hardly dream of.
We are rightfully proud of Briain and must not allow the Tories to wreck it again.

Tougher controls over developers so that they take note of local opinion. through stronger communities and fully involved active citizens.
It's our town so we should decide what we want , then ask developers in ; not have to be forever fighting them off or being forced to accept today the eyesores of tomorrow!
I have repeatedly called for a non party Sutton Town planning sumit, your local Tories have always rejected this.
Only YOU can settle the impass!

Rob Pocock has launched a new five part plan to stem the tide of building sweeping through Sutton Coldfield.
  1. Tougher controls on the free market in private land development using new powers to limit the right to build.
  2. Set an agreed limit on the total acceptable number of houses in Sutton Coldfield this would be a limit agreed under Regional Planning Guidance in line with the Government's new Housing Plan published last month.
  3. Require developers to reach an acceptable agreement with a local residents' Planning Forum on the size and scale of individual sites.
  4. Require developers to pay a 'Per property' contribution towards public services such as Doctors and Schools, which cannot otherwise cope with the increased housing.
  5. Introduce a support scheme to help older people who want to move to smaller local properties, and not lose their capital. Larger properties would then be available to meet demand.

A New Start,
a Sutton to be Proud of!

The Conservatives complain about the housing problem, but their own free market ideology means that they oppose tougher public planning controls on developers.
Devoid of vision and incapable of leadership their policy has been to offer platitudes to NIMBYism, and more recently, highly publicised stunts with "public video booths".

Labour believes that YOU deserve better!
