We put you at the heart of Sutton Coldfield!

Text Box: They’re letting Sutton down!
When they took over the Council 4 years ago, Sutton’s Conservatives promised:
•	To stop the tide of housing development
•	To freeze Council Tax to a zero % rise
•	To give more money to Sutton
•	To make the place cleaner and greener.

But, look what’s actually happened!
•	Housing development gets worse and worse!
•	Council Tax is up again to its highest level ever in Sutton Coldfield
•	The money for Sutton is no more than when Labour were running the Council
•	There are cuts throughout the City in street sweeping, litter and local rubbish dumping clean-ups.

The Conservatives are letting Sutton down. On top of this, Sutton’s local Lib Dems are in a cosy coalition with them - just helping them botch it up!

No wonder Labour’s growing here!

Text Box: Labour’s Sutton Recycling Plan

Ø	Fed up with the never-ending amounts of packaging you get whenever you go to the shops?
Ø	Worried that the ‘2 for 1’ special food offers you buy just end up going in the bin?

This year, Sutton Coldfield Labour is launching a ‘ban the bag’ campaign.

We’re aiming to get wasteful packaging and carrier bags banned across Sutton Coldfield.

Ø	Our campaigns have succeeded in getting parts of Sutton onto a better recycling service. Now we want this extended to ALL our area! Everyone has a right to a top class recycling service!

Rail action for Sutton Town Centre – while Tories dither!

Labour’s growing Sutton Coldfield campaign team have made more progress in the bid to have the cross-Sutton rail link re-opened.

While the local Conservative Councillors waffle and dither, Rob Pocock and Labour’s team went straight to West Midlands Minister Liam Byrne MP. The press notice (opposite) highlights our success.

After years of breathtaking Conservative complacency, and 4 years in charge of the City Council, the Tories just go on talking. Meanwhile Sutton Town Centre is tragically going to pot.

Now Labour’s team in Sutton are bidding to get ALL residents involved in plans!

An end to ‘bulging bins’ - our ‘Community Action’ Plan

Text Box: Conservative cuts to Council clean-up services have left our shopping centres grubby and litter bins bulging (like this one spotted in Boldmere last month).

Labour’s ‘Clean Neighbourhoods Act’ gives Councils much tougher powers. So why aren’t the Conservatives using them in Sutton?

Labour’s new Neighbourhood Policing plan means local officers are now going to be more on-hand in your area.

They’ll come to local meetings and they will be working much more closely with residents to crack down on the minority of troublemakers

They’ll also work with young people to get better facilities and much needed activities.

It’s positive action for our area!
